Canadian Fura Emeralds submitted a binding letter of intent to become the operator of La Pita emerald mine in Boyacá owned by Zuliana de Esmeraldas. For this, it promised to pay US $5 million, which gives it the right to be the operator for the term remaining in the mine’s concession, which runs until June 29, 2025, as well as to receive 50% of the production. La Pita is a mine that has produced high quality emeralds for more than 20 years and that has worked with artisanal methods, the Canadian’s plan is to industrialize it.
