The announcement was made within the framework of the First International Symposium of Emeralds that will be held until October 15 at the Sheraton Hotel in Bogotá. In the presence of more than 300 attendees, Óscar Baquero, President of Fedesmeraldas, called on other emerald-producing countries such as Zambia, Brazil and Pakistan, to create the International Committee of Emeralds, whose objective will be to advance the necessary steps for research, development and competition in the sector.
